Crunch Time

We are officially in packing mode and harvest is ready. What does this mean, you ask? Well, it means I am off to pick corn this morning for canning and already have a batch of salsa going and waiting for my husband to get back with the vinegar so, I can finish my pickles. We leave on Saturday and I just started getting things packed last night. My furniture is still waiting to be moved downstairs but, I finally finished painting the living room and just love how fresh and clean it is. Yes, I suffer from lack of sleep and surprisingly, I have still been able to get in my daily run. Not sure what will happen when I have my 7 mile days. The running schedule takes a lot of my free time but, really want to train for this 1/2 marathon. I know I can do it. Today will be hectic and I hope the kids cooperate with me today. The two older ones helped work our calves yesterday and they are feeling a little sore and tired. Brandon is worried he can no longer have children because, he has been kicked in the privets by a cow too many times. He is so adorable. I am proud of both of them. I know it is hard work throwing those calves. Grandpa always pays them a few bucks and I know they both have incentive. Brandon has his eye on some new bionicle stuff and Liz is desperately wanting some american girl clothes for her dolls.

My summer job starts soon and I know that things will get rough around here. Working evenings when the kids need me most is hard. They miss me like crazy and everything is out of control around here.

To top my schedule off, school starts the day after we get back and I still have not taken the kids school shopping. Before this would have stressed me totally but, not so much any more. Who says kids need to start school with everything new. New shoes is really all they need and we already have backpacks and school supplies. My mom already took care of the shoes and my mother-in-law gave them all their school supplies plus new lunch bags. So, the way I see it they are set. September, brings 5 birthdays in our family and it is a crazy month. They always get new clothes on their birthday's and so, this year I will hold out until after September.

I am not complaining by any means. I love when I am this busy it is just a matter of finding balance and it always slows down after September. I am officially looking for a place in town and not so far away from civilization which means, I might be looking for a job soon and that is a little taunting since I have not had a real day-to-day job in 6, almost 7 years.

Dang girl, you cease to amaze me! hey, I don't know if you are interested, but Steve's Department is highering custodians, I'm not sure on the hours, but pay, benifits and that are nice...just an idea.
